Job summary

Sanderson Government and Defence is seeking an experienced cloud engineering leader to build, test, and deploy cloud infrastructure and applications. You will drive CI/CD, IaC, and automation, while mentoring the team and guiding incident resolution and contingency planning.

Qualifications

• 6 years delivering production-grade cloud solutions.
• DevSecOps and Zero Trust Architecture experience.
• Commercial experience deploying and operating infrastructure and applications on AWS and other public/private hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with source control and code review (GitHub, GitLab, or Atlassian Suite).
• Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (Terraform and Ansible).
• Experience with Test Driven Development and related tools/frameworks.
• Experience with containerisation/orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, EKS, AKS).
• Knowledge of event streaming technologies such as Kafka and Flink.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy cloud infrastructure and apps using CI/CD and IaC.
• Contribute to custom test automation frameworks.
• Maintain and update scripts as requirements evolve.
• Support environment setup for manual and automated testing.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents.
• Conduct gap analysis and scope modifications.
• Support contingency planning including backup/restore procedures.
• Document changes to modules and test activities.
• Mentor and lead the team on delivery.

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year
