About the role

Drive the creative direction and execution of the Knitwear & Jersey category, delivering innovative and commercially successful designs that align with the brand vision and growth strategy. By combining trend insight, technical expertise, and a strong understanding of fabrication and construction, you will shape a distinctive and cohesive collection that resonates with customers. You will lead and inspire a team while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure designs achieve the perfect balance of creativity, quality, and commercial viability. Your strategic mindset and ability to source and develop fabrics, techniques, and styles with maximum impact will contribute to delivering best-in-class product ranges with strong margin performance.

What you’ll do

• Lead and manage the development of the Knitwear & Jersey collection from concept through to sealed samples, ensuring all timelines are met according to the critical path.
• Develop mood boards with a clear point of view on trends, silhouettes, fabrications, and colours, defining seasonal visions specific to Knitwear & Jersey.
• Support and collaborate with the Head of Design and Lead Wovens Designer to create cohesive ranges and outfitting solutions.
• Define and ensure a clear outfitting vision by working closely with Senior Designers across other categories.
• Drive fabric and yarn sourcing, designing into fabric groups to maximize commercial success and product impact.
• Produce CAD designs for Knitwear & Jersey, leading to comprehensive tech pack creation.
• Manage and develop a small team (2 direct reports), inspiring and motivating them to deliver strong design concepts and commercial success.
• Work closely with Far and Near East factories/suppliers to ensure smooth development processes, quality control, and timely delivery.
• Ensure first-to-sealed proto samples reflect expectations in terms of quality, construction, fit, and aesthetics through collaboration with Buying and Technical teams.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of sales, returns, and customer feedback to inform design decisions and strategic planning.
• Partner with the Buying team to maintain strong supplier relationships and track all developments effectively.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of cost-effective design techniques that maximize impact while achieving the best margin possible.
• Support the Head of Design with pre-season planning, trends, mood boards, and colour palettes.
• Maintain a strong presence in the office, working five days a week if required, to foster collaboration and efficiency.

• Proven ability to produce highly creative yet commercial designs that resonate with our customers.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and inspiring a team.
• Exceptional eye for detail and a strong understanding of outfitting strategies.
• Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for CAD design.
• In-depth trend identification and commercial market analysis.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners, leveraging negotiation skills to achieve business objectives.
• Highly self-motivated, proactive, and solution-driven approach.
