Lead Designer - Structural Steel

My client is looking for a Lead Designer to join their team. This role is a mix of hands-on design work and managing a small team of 2 to 3 designers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in structural steelwork and be proficient in Tekla.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design team, overseeing workloads and ensuring project deadlines are met
2. Work closely with the Technical Lead and Engineering Team to develop efficient and accurate designs
3. Produce detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures
4. Review and check designs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and buildability
5. Provide guidance, training, and support to junior designers
6. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure seamless project execution
7. Maintain quality standards and ensure designs align with industry regulations

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in structural and architectural steelwork design
2. Tekla Structures proficiency is essential
3. Experience in leading or mentoring a small design team
4. Strong understanding of fabrication and construction processes
5. Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure
6. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
