Job summary

Safran Electrical & Power in Pitstone, Buckinghamshire, England, United Kingdom seeks a Lead Design Quality Assurance Engineer. You will drive design QA activities to ensure safety, regulatory and customer requirements are met before production, focusing on risk mitigation and process compliance.

You will lead design reviews, implement quality strategies, and coordinate with engineering, operations and suppliers to ensure airworthiness and continuous improvement across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, science or engineering is required or highly desirable.
• 5–10 years’ experience in aerospace design, quality or related functions.
• Proficiency with ISO9001 and AS9100 QMS standards deployment and implementation.
• Experience with EASA/CAA Part 21J requirements.
• APQP specialist with PPAP, FMEA and MSA knowledge; problem solving (8D, RCCA, FRACA); Six Sigma DMAIC Black Belt desired.
• Configuration and data management experience; strong drawing/CAD interpretation; good communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design Quality Assurance activities compliant with EASA/CAA Part 21J and DOH requirements.
• Plan and deliver design assurance oversight across the product lifecycle to achieve 100% airworthiness compliance.
• Drive defect prevention, RCCA/FRACA activities, and corrective action closure.
• Lead design reviews (PDR/CDR) and ensure producibility, safety and reliability are embedded.
• Audit and review technical documentation, changes and certification evidence; support customers and regulatory bodies.
