Job description

About The Job

Games Workshop has a new opportunity for an Operations Manager to join the Warhammer 40,000 leadership team to play an essential role in shaping how our studio operates and enabling our talented teams to create the very best Warhammer experiences for hobbyists around the world.

Highly organised, commercially minded and with a natural curiosity about how things work, you will take responsibility for understanding and improving the studio’s operational performance. Working closely with the Head of Studio and your peers in the studio leadership team, you will establish clear measures of success, identify opportunities for improvement and turn plans into action. We’ll see you lead meaningful changes to the ways we work, solving complex problems and ensuring our creative teams can focus on making outstanding miniatures, books and games.

Financially astute and with excellent attention to detail, you will take ownership of the studio’s cost plan, operational planning and performance, ensuring we use our resources wisely and make sound commercial decisions. You will play an important role in assessing the commercial viability of future products, balancing creative ambition with business needs, and building strong relationships across Games Workshop to ensure the studio has everything it needs to succeed.

Passionate about people and with a proactive approach, you will understand that our people are our greatest asset and take a leading role in making the studio stronger. You will help shape our organisational structure, ensure we have the right people in the right roles and play an active part in recruitment, development and succession planning. You will also take responsibility for ensuring the studio is a safe and well-run place to work, managing operational risks and our legal and health and safety responsibilities.

Most importantly, you will be passionate about making Warhammer 40,000 the greatest miniatures game in the world. You will be curious enough to ask good questions, humble enough to listen to others and courageous enough to make things better. You will be comfortable making important decisions, working with numbers and getting into the detail, but never lose sight of why the studio exists: to create the world’s best science fantasy miniatures, games and experiences for our hobbyists.

If you love Warhammer 40,000, thrive on the challenge of making complex things work brilliantly and want to play a leading role in shaping the future of the world’s greatest miniatures hobby, we’d love to hear from you.
