Job summary

Ishida Europe Ltd is seeking a Lead Design Engineer to lead and oversee the design efforts within the organisation. The role involves guiding a cross-functional team to innovate and design standard, configured and bespoke orders while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

The Lead Design Engineer will collaborate with production, software/electrical, quality and aftersales teams to ensure alignment and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in mechanical engineering or equivalent is required.
• Strong leadership and project management experience with bespoke machine design.
• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary design teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads cross-functional technical teams and mentors members.
• Plans, manages and oversees design projects from conception to completion.
• Coordinates timelines and budgets with stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Designs detailed systems, performs simulations and optimises for cost and sustainability.
• Engages with production, software/electrical, quality and aftersales to ensure alignment.
• Documents activities and presents progress to senior management.
