Qualifications

  • Experience designing with market leading VMS and ACS systems such as C-Cure, Lenel, Genetec & Synergy.
  • Knowledge of Intruder and BMS systems is a bonus.
  • Capable of working with a degree of self-supervision.

Job description

Lead Design Engineer (Post Sales)

What you will do

As a Lead Design Engineer, you will design and deliver CCTV and Access Control Systems. Some designs may be brand new, others may be evolutions or upgrades to existing systems.

You may be involved in Sales Support, Surveys and System Acceptance Tests, some of which may be on construction or secure sites. The individual must be capable of working with an element of self-supervision to ensure solutions are delivered on-time, within budget and in accordance with the performance expectations.

How you will do it

  • Produce various Schematics, Parts lists, Specifications, Schedules and Wiring/Equipment Layouts.
  • Undertake calculations for network bandwidth, power, heat etc. and meet statutory regulations and standards that may apply.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for delivery of your work.
  • Configure and set up of systems may be undertaken as an office/factory task, or on site, or via remote connection. This task may be completed by Commissioning Engineers, so Team working, and adaptability is important.

What we look for

  • Knowledge of analogue and digital CCTV system components, Access Control system components, IP Networking, Copper, Fibre and Wireless Communications, PC Server/Client architecture.
  • Knowledge of Intruder and BMS systems would be a bonus, as would knowledge of legacy communications standards such as RS232 and RS485.
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible approach to work and an ability to multi-task
  • A degree level, and if not certified in, you will be experienced designing with market leading VMS and ACS systems such as C-Cure, Lenel, Genetec & Synergy.
