Salary: £72,000 - £82,000 plus London Weighting Allowance of £5319 and 15% bonus depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Location: TVC, London based .This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.

THE ROLE

This is a 14 month Fixed Term contract.

We are hiring for an experienced Lead Delivery Manager to join our team and help drive the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of Video On Demand and Syndication products. Reporting directly to the Head of Delivery, you'll play a key role in shaping and executing against our delivery plans in support of several key business initiatives.

This role requires someone that can combine hands-on delivery leadership for our most significant or complex workstreams, whilst providing broader oversight of delivery across the full product portfolio. You'll lead a small team of Delivery Managers, providing support and direction to ensure we maintain high standards of delivery practice, agility and continuous improvement.

Role Responsibility

  • Accountable for applying the most appropriate agile delivery methodology as needed to deliver a successful outcome at scale, in high profile and complex environments involving multiple teams.
  • Lead and develop a small team of Delivery Managers ensuring a consistent level of high-quality output.
  • Orchestrates efforts across multiple teams and disciplines towards clear outcomes. Responsible for maintaining delivery momentum and managing blockers, risks and impediments to progress product delivery at scale.
  • Responsible for ensuring deliverables are defined against clearly articulated outcomes. Ensures work is visible and there is an iterative plan to work towards that is actively communicated and understood by teams & stakeholders across BBC Studios.
  • Responsible for identifying and bringing the right people together at the right time. Understands how and when to include people in communications and to make decisions. Builds meaningful relationships with stakeholders, partners and suppliers to encourage engagement and set expectations.
  • Leads procurement processes and manages suppliers towards successful outcomes.
  • Responsible for taking a lead on establishing healthy team dynamics and fostering an environment that builds high performing teams. Ensuring teams are collaborative and communicating effectively with each other.
  • Responsible for leading on creating an environment where continuous improvements of teams' working practices can happen, including measuring success, inspecting and adapting for their product area.


WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Experience in a managerial role, leading, mentoring a team.
  • Adept at delivering products and services using both in-house and 3rd party teams.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of a range of agile tools and techniques, with an ability to lead, role model, and coach within your team.
  • Innovative and keeps up to date with the latest agile delivery and product development trends.
  • Excellent understanding of the Product Operating Model and able to lead, plan, and implement in each phase.
  • Experience delivering products at scale using agile techniques and optimising the delivery flow across multiple teams. Managing dependencies, risks and issues across teams and departments.
  • In depth understanding of syndication and VOD technologies and/or experience within a media organisation is highly desirable.
