Job summary

Artis Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Lead Data Scientist in the UK to steer a high-performing team while delivering advanced analytics and AI-driven business insights.

You will report to the Head of Analytics and work with senior stakeholders to shape data strategy, identify opportunities, and drive commercial value through data-driven decisions. The role combines leadership with hands-on analytics in a hybrid Bristol-based setting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading data science teams and delivering business value.
• Strong Python/SQL and at least one additional language (R or similar).
• Proficiency in ML, predictive modelling and statistics.
• Experience with Databricks or other cloud analytics platforms.
• Proficient with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and data warehouses.
• Excellent communication of complex analytics to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Data Scientists and Analysts.
• Deliver advanced analytics, predictive modelling and ML solutions.
• Identify opportunities where AI can create measurable business improvements.
• Translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and BI teams to deploy models.
• Champion innovation by evaluating emerging data science technologies.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement across analytics capability and governance.
