About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our data science team at Aviva, where you can contribute to shaping the future of insurance through advanced analytics. Key responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the development and deployment of machine learning models supporting trading strategies, risk-based costing, medical underwriting, and operational efficiency.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data science needs and provide expertise on model design and controls.
  3. Design and implement control mechanisms to ensure model reliability and robustness.
  4. Mentor colleagues to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement in data science practices.

Required skills and experience:

  • Experience in data science with a focus on machine learning model development and deployment.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience in deploying models into business processes, preferably in insurance or finance sectors.
  • Understanding of model monitoring and control design.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with non-technical colleagues.
