Role Overview:

At easyJet, we aim to become a leading data-driven airline with a mid-term profit target of £1 billion. Joining our Data Analytics & Intelligence (DA&I) team means you will play a key role in developing scalable data science solutions that unlock revenue and cost-saving opportunities.

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to fill a critical role focused on training and enabling data science operating models, best practices, and the machine learning lifecycle across our data science functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and optimize machine learning modules for successful deployment.
  2. Promote best practices in data science processes and workflows.
  3. Collaborate with federated Data Science teams and provide support as needed.
  4. Engage with stakeholders across departments to drive data initiatives.
  5. Design and deliver training to improve data literacy and capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a commercial environment with strong skills in Python, SQL, and preferably PySpark.
  • Deep understanding of the data science product lifecycle from development to deployment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, take ownership, deliver results, and develop talent.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and influence stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset, valuing team success over individual achievement.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in Python, PySpark, SQL.
  • Experience in building and optimizing machine learning models.
  • Ability to lead initiatives and projects independently.
