Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an experienced data engineering leader to shape enterprise-wide strategy and deliver complex data solutions. You will lead across teams using Databricks, dbt, Azure, Python, and SQL, driving modernisation, automation and security.

You will mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions and translate business strategy into engineering outcomes, while championing best practices and AI-enabled value creation. The role offers hybrid working across the UK estate.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data engineering and cloud platforms including Databricks, dbt and Azure.
• Proven delivery of large-scale, enterprise-grade data solutions.
• Experience with Python, SQL, GitHub DevOps, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across products, platforms and programmes.
• Shape architectural direction and establish high engineering standards.
