Job summary

Adria Solutions Ltd. seeks a hands-on Lead Data Engineer to own the data platform end-to-end and guide a small team of engineers. The role focuses on modernising the data estate, enabling BI, data science and applied AI initiatives, while delivering scalable batch and real-time data processing.

You will shape a Customer Data Platform, implement a lakehouse on AWS, and establish governed semantic models and secure self-service analytics for the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating complete data platforms.
• Experience with batch ELT and orchestration.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Hands-on with AWS data services (S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, RDS).
• Experience in data governance, metrics and semantic models.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability, security and ongoing development of the data platform.
• Modernise the SQL Server, SSIS/SSDT and Power BI environment.
• Develop scalable batch and real-time data-processing solutions.
• Lead design of a Customer Data Platform.
• Build a lakehouse architecture using AWS technologies.
• Create governed semantic models and clear data definitions.
• Enable secure, self-service data analysis with AI tooling.
• Automate manual or fragile data processes.
• Support BI, Data Science, ML and AI teams.
• Manage data governance, monitoring and platform costs.
• Line-manage and develop the Data Engineering team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business.
