Job summary

Harnham - Data and Analytics Recruitment seeks a Data Platform Engineer to own and evolve a scalable Azure-based data platform in a growing R&D environment. You will guide platform strategy, drive technical decisions, and enable delivery of innovative data products across the business.

You will work with Data Engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable solutions, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong cloud-based data platform experience.
• Expertise in Azure services and modern data architectures.
• Ability to make architectural decisions and explain rationale to stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience building and scaling enterprise data platforms.
• Understanding of governance, monitoring, security, and ops best practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical owner of the data platform.
• Design and oversee scalable platform architecture across Azure.
• Support Data Engineers to deliver reliable data solutions.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Architecture, Security, and Network teams.
• Manage platform performance, governance, and operational excellence.
• Resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks.
• Drive best practices across deployment, monitoring and support.
• Contribute to AI/data products within the R&D environment.
