Job summary

Altana is recruiting a seasoned data engineer to lead the platform operations and compliance data pipelines. You will integrate Altana products with client systems, build scalable data models, and ensure secure, cost-conscious operations across cloud environments.

You will collaborate with engineers, ML specialists and product managers to deliver mission-critical insights for public sector customers. The role emphasizes ownership of end-to-end data solutions, mentoring peers, and staying current

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Design, development, and maintenance of complex data models from multiple sources.
• Lead end-to-end data ingestion and standardization pipelines at scale.
• Strong focus on data security, governance and reliable software.
• Experience deploying software across client cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance or already held.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy and continuously improve distributed, big-data pipelines powering Altana’s network analysis and ML.
• Drive scalable data architectures to meet evolving customer needs.
• Support platform reliability, cost controls and security reviews.
• Serve as technical expert in client meetings, bridging government requirements with architecture.
• Work in cross-functional teams with engineers, data scientists and product managers.
• Evaluate and adopt new tools, technologies and best practices for data pipelines.
