Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join the cross-disciplinary Data Platform team. You will ingest and process high-volume data, scale the platform, and define its technical direction to support PlayStation analytics across development and post-launch phases.

You will own data pipelines, build integrations with in-game data, BI tools, and collaborate with DevOps and stakeholders to ensure data quality and reliable services.

Qualifications

• Experience building and owning Data Pipelines for high-throughput streaming and batch data.
• Proficient in Go or Python with ability to learn Go.
• Experience building robust, scalable, and resilient services.
• Demonstrated measurable impact in prior roles.
• Comfort solving data problems, ownership of quality, investigations and remediation.
• Experience with cloud data services (AWS) like S3, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue, Athena.

Responsibilities

• Own parts of the data pipeline and drive improvements to meet goals.
• Build supporting services for the pipeline, incl. in-game maps and video tooling integrations.
• Integrate data collection platform and BI tools for studio self-service.
• Collaborate with DevOps, analytics engineers and stakeholders across the studio.
• Improve data quality, lineage and observability.
• Support existing tooling, enhance quality and documentation.
• Share expertise with colleagues.
