Job Description

SR2 are currently looking for a highly motivated Lead Data Engineer for a pioneering tech company, working across sectors such as defence, aerospace, finance, and insurance.

As the Lead Data Engineer (Back End), you will shape the future of our application's backend architecture, APIs, and infrastructure.

Location: London | Hybrid (2 days a week onsite)

Salary: £120,000 - 130,000

Requirements:

• Over six years of experience in data engineering, with at least two years in a staff/principal role.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Lambda, ECS, EventBridge, CloudWatch, Athena).
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing.
• Ability to build secure, scalable, and maintainable backend services and APIs.
• Experience working with large datasets, optimizing data structures and queries for performance.
