Title: Lead Data Engineer

Location: Remote!

Salary: Up to £75,000.

Are you a Lead Data Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

if so..

Our client is looking for a strategic, hands-on data leader to shape and grow a brand-new Data & Insights department at an organisation driving change across the housing and energy sectors!

In this pivotal role, you'll lead the development of a modern Fabric lakehouse infrastructure to automate and scale their data services. A key part of your work will be to take ownership of "Heat Manager" a data-driven service that leverages heat network data to deliver actionable insights for social housing providers. Already delivering value in pilot form, the ambition is to grow this into a sector-wide solution.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Define and lead the strategic direction of the Data & Insights function.

  • Build and manage a growing team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Design and deliver scalable data infrastructure, ensuring high standards in governance and security.

  • Drive the success of "Heat Manager" and other projects from inception to delivery.

  • Collaborate across internal teams and with clients to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

What We're Looking For:
  • 3-5+ years in software/data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong experience in designing and managing data lake or lakehouse architectures.

  • A proven background in project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

  • Solid understanding of Agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, and system reliability principles.
