Analytics Lead - Tax Technology & Innovation

The Team

We are a team of 250 technologists providing technology services and solutions across the Tax and Legal business. This business has over 2500 tax & legal professionals covering multiple disciplines.

The team is made up of Product Owners, Business Analysts, Multi-disciplinary Engineering teams, Data Analysts, and IT Service delivery professionals working on a large portfolio of systems used to improve productivity and solve key business problems across Tax & Law.

Tax Technology builds cutting-edge solutions for clients, maximizing collaboration and ensuring seamless delivery of information to our clients.

The Role

The Analytics Lead will be an integral part of a team delivering data services & solutions to clients across KPMG's Tax & Law practice.

Working with a mixture of UK- and India-based data engineers and data analysts, you will play a key role in designing and implementing market-leading data-focused solutions.

You will be expected to showcase the power of our data-focused technology to our clients and internal stakeholders in knowledge-sharing events.

The role can be based anywhere in the UK, though preference will be given to candidates in Glasgow and London. Remote or part-time workers are welcome to apply.

  2. Proven experience using advanced analytics to solve complex business problems.
  3. Excellent knowledge of Alteryx, ideally with the Alteryx Designer certification.
  4. Excellent knowledge of data visualization tools, ideally Power BI and Tableau.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to logically analyze complex requirements, processes, and systems.
  6. Strong people skills, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
  7. A passion for continual professional development and willingness to experiment with new technology.
  8. Passion about using data to drive key business decisions.
  9. Management or mentoring experience.
You may have ...

  2. Strong SQL coding ability as well as Python scripting.
  3. Experience using data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
  4. Experience manipulating large data sets.
  5. A good understanding of Machine Learning techniques & large language models.
  6. Worked with Agile teams using Scrum or the Scaled Agile framework.
  7. Alteryx advanced or expert certifications & Alteryx Server administration.
In this role you will ...
  1. Design and implement high-quality analytics solutions.
  2. Lead teams to build Data solutions to help our business to provide services to clients.
  3. Work with teams of analysts using Alteryx and related tools to automate a variety of ETL and reporting processes for internal and external clients.
  4. Work with teams of BI Developers to deliver visualizations that provide key insights to our clients.
  5. Coordinate business development activities with senior colleagues across the business and present at client pitches.
  6. Embed best practice and a culture of quality across the data team.
  7. Coach and mentor others to help them achieve their potential.
  8. Engage with multiple key stakeholders internally and externally.
The best of both worlds

We might be world leaders, but in many ways the department feels like a start-up, with a twist. There's the buzz of scrum working, the thrill of shaping compelling experiences, the chance to surprise and stretch yourself in response to a fresh challenge. And then there's all the resources, technology, and high-profile projects of a major corporate entity. Crucially, we also offer the benefit of clear career progression.
