Job summary

The Resolute Group in London is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and delivery of data centre projects. You will guide HVAC and building services from concept through construction, coordinating with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Applicants should hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services, have data centre experience, and be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience as a Mechanical Engineer on data centres, industrial, large commercial or similar projects.
Familiar with UK building regulations and standards.
Ability to lead packages of work independently while coordinating in a wider team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical calculation tools.

Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design and coordination of medium to large-scale projects from concept through to construction.
Develop detailed engineering solutions for HVAC and other building services systems to meet performance, sustainability, and compliance targets.
Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Carry out technical assessments, calculations and analysis to support robust design development.
Support and mentor junior team members, reviewing work and providing technical guidance.
Ensure designs adhere to UK regulations, international standards, and project-specific requirements.
Prepare specifications and reports using Word, Excel and specialist engineering software.
