Job summary

SSE plc in Scotland, within Transmission Digital, seeks a hands-on Data Analytics specialist to design, develop and optimise reusable analytical datasets and Power BI semantic models.

You will consolidate data across the platform, deliver scalable analytical products, work with BI developers, data engineers and stakeholders, and drive performance improvements while supporting Copilot-enabled experiences.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience building complex Power BI solutions with reusable semantic models.
• Experience consolidating datasets into shared analytical products for multiple reports.
• Strong Power BI, DAX, relationships, storage modes, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of reusable analytical datasets and Power BI semantic models.
• Consolidate standalone semantic models into shared analytical products for multiple reports.
• Translate business questions into data requirements, measures, and practical Power BI solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve Power BI performance issues via semantic-model design and DAX optimization.
• Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, architects and stakeholders through testing and deployment.
