We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Analyst to join our team at Lockheed Martin Strategic Systems in Helensburgh, Scotland. This is a pivotal role that spans across all business functions, championing our journey towards becoming a data-driven organisation.

This position benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4 day working week (Monday to Thursday), along with flexible hybrid working – typically two days a week on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Management: Collect, clean, and manage large, complex datasets from various defence-related sources, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with security protocols.
  • Advanced Analytics: Apply advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support strategic defence initiatives.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Adhere to stringent defence regulations and cybersecurity standards, ensuring the secure handling of sensitive information.
  • Threat Intelligence: Analyse data to detect threats, vulnerabilities, and emerging patterns that may impact national security, providing actionable insights to relevant stakeholders.
  • Operational Efficiency: Leverage data insights to enhance operational effectiveness in areas such as resource planning, logistics, and mission optimisation.
  • Reporting & Visualisation: Communicate complex analytical findings through clear, impactful reports and data visualisations, tailored for defence stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with military personnel, strategists, IT teams, and fellow analysts to deliver data solutions aligned with operational needs.
  • Research & Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest developments in analytics, AI, and machine learning, applying cutting-edge methods to improve defence capabilities.
  • Mentorship & Training: Support and develop junior analysts, fostering growth and ensuring high standards of expertise across the team.
  • Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end data projects, managing resources, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with broader organisational objectives.
  • Security Compliance: Uphold necessary security clearances, adhering strictly to classified data protocols.
  • Continuous Development: Proactively engage with evolving technologies, defence strategies, and analytical methodologies to maintain a leading-edge skill set.

Lockheed Martin UK – Strategic Systems (LMUK SS) is the single contractor providing specialist Waterfront In-Service Support to one of the Royal Navy's Submarine Programs. The company provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support.
