Role Overview:

A leading quantitative hedge fund in London is seeking a hands-on Python Data Analyst Team Lead to manage and expand its data analytics function. This is a key role for a technically strong individual who enjoys coding, mentoring, and driving data strategy in a fast-paced, research-driven trading environment.

The team supports quantitative researchers by sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding new data sets, ensuring data quality and reliability. This data underpins alpha research and signal generation for systematic trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of Data Analysts, providing coaching, career development, and technical mentorship.
• Ensure high-quality data delivery, operational excellence, and continuous innovation within the data ecosystem.
• Understand data needs to shape strategic initiatives that enhance research and signal development.
• Oversee and prioritize team projects from conception to delivery, maintaining timelines and quality standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years' experience as a Data Analyst.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and tools like dbt, Snowflake, AWS S3, and SQL Server.
• Deep understanding of financial instruments such as Equities, Futures, Forwards, CDS, IRS, and ETFs, with expertise in at least one asset class.
• Knowledge of market data licensing and vendor relationships.
• Experience leading or coaching a technical team.
• Experience in a data team within a systematic hedge fund or similar environment is highly valued.
