Job summary

Beaumont Care Homes Limited in Newtownabbey is seeking a Cook for 20 hours per week to support the Cook Manager and run the kitchen in their absence. You will prepare high quality, home-cooked meals, catering to dietary and cultural needs, and ensure hygiene standards are met.

You will lead a small kitchen team, help design menus, manage stock, and maintain records. The role requires initiative, energy and teamwork, and offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and direct a team of kitchen colleagues to deliver a first class catering service to the residents within the Home.
• Prepare menus in consultation with the Cook Manager, Home Manager, residents, families, catering committees. Understanding individuals nutritional needs and choices. Ensuring the quantity and quality of all food served is to the required nutritional standards.
• Prepare any beverages and snacks throughout the day, around the needs and choices of residents.
• In the absence of the Cook Manager, planning and delivering, set menus.
• When required to by the Cook Manager, take responsibility for stock taking, stock rotation and storage of stock, including checking and receiving deliveries.
• Monitor and replenish kitchen and food stocks, in conjunction with the Home Manager. Maintain records of the same, in line with Company procedures.
• Responsible for the presentation of the dining areas.
• Assist in supervising all other kitchen staff
• Ensuring that high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food preparation are maintained at all times to meet environmental food safety standards.
