Lead Controls Engineer (LV Schematics)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience (8-12 years) in designing, developing, and implementing low voltage secondary systems for power distribution applications.
  • Proficiency in Engineering Base software for creating engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution fundamentals, and low voltage equipment.
  • Experience with protective relay coordination, arc flash analysis, and fault current calculations.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, and NEMA.
  • Project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and overseeing electrical control and protection cubicles for industrial applications.
  • Conceptualizing cubicle design and detailing specifications using Engineering Base software.
  • Designing low voltage secondary systems for power distribution, including transformers, switchgear, marshalling, distribution boards, control, and protection panels.
  • Utilizing Engineering Base software to design electrical control and protection cubicles based on project requirements.
  • Developing general arrangement drawings (GA) and layouts ensuring compliance with standards and client needs.
  • Collaborating with electrical engineers and project managers to align designs with project goals.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and proposing optimized design solutions.
  • Ensuring designs meet safety standards, electrical codes, and regulations.
  • Preparing bills of materials (BOM) and technical documentation for cubicle designs.
  • Understanding electrical components and their usage in schematics.
  • Staying updated with the latest electrical materials to optimize designs.
  • Supporting manufacturing and installation teams during production and assembly.
  • Reviewing vendor proposals and technical submissions related to cubicle components.
