This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of environmentally impactful industrial solutions within a small, collaborative engineering team. Huge growth potential and the ideal opportunity for someone looking to take a step up into their first Lead position.

The Role

You’ll lead the design, development, and delivery of electrical and control systems used in complex electro-mechanical products that serve industrial customers across the UK and Europe. The systems are programmed using Schneider-based PLCs, and you’ll play a key role in both supporting live deployments and driving future design innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as technical lead for electrical design and control systems development
  • Design hardware for automated systems including cabinet layouts, safety, compliance calculations, and 2D drawings
  • Develop and maintain PLC code and associated control systems (CODESYS, Ladder, FBD, ST)
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate control logic into system builds
  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site system issues as needed (UK and Europe travel required occasionally)
  • Work with suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Ensure adherence to relevant safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, risk assessments, and validation plans

Your Profile

  • Degree, HND or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in electrical hardware design for industrial machinery (Control panel and cabinet build)
  • Proficient in PLC programming, specifically using CODESYS and Schneider Machine Expert
  • Familiar with EU/UK machinery safety and electrical equipment regulations
  • Excellent communicator with a hands-on, collaborative approach
  • Able to interpret P&IDs and produce clear documentation and reports
  • 2D Electrical Design experience - ideally Solidworks

What’s On Offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • Annual performance-based bonus
  • Equity/Growth share options (post-qualifying period)
  • Matched pension contributions (up to 5%)
  • 25 days holiday
  • Flexible hybrid working environment
  • Excellent professional development opportunities in a mission-driven team

This is a unique opportunity to join an agile, purpose-led engineering team working on real-world sustainability challenges through hardware innovation.
