About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer to join our Global Payments and Liquidity Control organization. This role offers the chance to provide risk and control leadership across our Global Payments and Liquidity group who offer a suite of services including cash management, liquidity solutions, and risk management capabilities to customers of Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Bankingand some Consumer and Small Business Banking, Wealth and Investment Management customers and Auto Dealer Finance partner relationships in Consumer Lending.

As the Lead Control Management Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness of risk management and control measures within our lending businesses, focusing on initiatives that impact multiple Risk Assessable Units (RAU) owned by Global Payments and Liquidity .

In this role, you will:

  • Provide control team support across a variety of topics including:

    • Core Sales and Marketing activity

    • Product Management and Development,

    • Content Development and Strategic Development

  • Play a key role in Global Payments and Liquidity Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program by conducting detailed risk and control evaluations.

  • Serve as the issue management point of contact for members of the business and consult with process owners to develop corrective action plans and control redesign. Oversee implementation progress and conduct control evaluation efforts as required. Coordinate with business and support partners for the creation of Self-Disclosed issues in Issues Management system of record.

  • Develop strong working relationships and continuously engage in discussions with LOB partners on strategy, industry trends, organizational changes to determine impact and identify and remediate risk and control issues across all risk types.

  • Provide operational risk expertise and consulting for projects and platform initiatives, considering impacts to risk & control framework.

  • Remain abreast of changes to risk programs, risk profiles, policies, procedures and other governing documents and processes.

  • Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact.

  • Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area.

  • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area.

  • Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls.

  • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies.


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Risk Management, Control Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Direct experience and working knowledge of Global Payments and Liquidity businesses, operating models, and regulatory environments.

  • Knowledge of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).

  • Experience with Issue Management, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy used to identify, assess, and confidently raise risks and issues, escalate early, and independently engage in constructive credible challenge.

  • Highly professional, adaptable, and proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a fast paced and complex environment.

  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written and interpersonal) with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with automated business processes.

  • Experience with Payments Products and Platforms.

  • Ability to recommend process improvement and enhancements to the control environment.
