Job summary

Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital, part of Cygnet Group, seeks a fully GMC registered Consultant Psychiatrist for the 3-month fixed-term role on Brook Ward, a 16-bed male acute service. You will provide senior medical cover, audit care quality, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Fully GMC registered and MBBS qualified.
• Registered on the Specialist Register (CCT/CESR), Section 12 and AC Status in Psychiatry.
• Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

Responsibilities

• Lead on high quality care for Brook Ward inpatients.
• Act as a positive role model for patients and families and staff.
• Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Assess referrals and conduct mental state examinations.
• Undertake investigations, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Conduct ward rounds, patient reviews and clinical audits.
• Lead risk assessment and governance within the service.
• Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and hearings.
• Liaise with MoJ for transfers and leave approvals.
• Maintain regular patient records and communicate with Site Medical Director and Hospital Manager.
• Attend academic meetings and participate in CPD per GMC guidelines.
• Contribute to on-call rota as required.
