Job summary

The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board invites applications for a Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry based in Ty Llewelyn Mental Health Unit, Bangor. The post involves providing overall psychiatric care for inpatients in medium secure services and leading a multidisciplinary team.

You will contribute to leadership across forensic services, including involvement with prisons and community forensic teams, and will work within a supportive leadership structure as part of North Wales services.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Specialist Registration or within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
• MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
• Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
• Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
• Evidence of training in the core and specialist competencies relevant for forensic psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Lead psychiatric care for inpatient population in medium secure services.
• Provide medical leadership within forensic services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and manage inpatients and community settings.
