Job Description:

Position Overview: The Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist will oversee psychological services within the State Hospital, working across various service areas including Admission and Assessment, Treatment and Recovery, Intellectual Disability, Transitions, and the High Secure Female Service. This permanent role offers an opportunity to develop forensic psychological services within a high secure environment.

Salary & Hours: AfC Band 8c (pro rata), with allowances totaling approximately £5,709 per annum (pro rata). Hours: 29.6 hours/week (0.8 WTE).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the psychology team within your designated service area.
  2. Contribute to the development of forensic psychological services in a high secure setting.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including forensic and secure services across the UK.
  4. Support and develop staff within the psychology department.
  5. Engage in service leadership and strategic planning.

Qualifications & Experience: Extensive forensic experience, excellent communication skills, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team are essential. Experience in forensic or high secure settings is preferred.

Additional Information: The role may require travel to deliver outreach services. Applicants interested in working within the women’s services should specify this in their application.
