Job summary

Rullion is hiring a Construction Manager to lead a major runway construction project in London. The role involves directing on-site civil activities within a live operational environment, coordinating with design, engineering, procurement and controls teams, and ensuring HSE and quality standards are met.

The successful candidate will have a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, significant exp. in major civil works, and Chartered status (CEng) or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent, or practical experience.
• Significant experience as Construction Manager or Senior Field Engineer on major civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering projects in live operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of civil methods, sequencing, and constructability.
• Excellent HSE and quality management understanding.
• Experience managing contractors, schedules, costs, and stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• CEng or equivalent Chartered status preferred.
• Aviation/airfield or major transport infrastructure experience helpful.
• Knowledge of UK CDM Regulations and NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction teams on a major aviation infrastructure project.
• Manage civil activities in a live operational environment.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement and project controls.
• Review constructability, logistics, sequencing and temporary works.
• Monitor contractor performance, quality, cost and programme delivery.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards.
• Support commissioning, handover and close-out activities.
• Mentor Field Engineers and construction personnel.
• Resolve on-site issues and drive improvements.
