Job summary

King Henry VIII School in Coventry is seeking a dynamic Teacher of Computer Science to inspire students from Year 7 through to Upper VI, with a possible Head of Department opportunity for the right candidate. The role is a fixed-term, full-time contract starting January 2027 and ending July 2027.

The successful applicant will join a department renowned for excellent examination outcomes, championing a love of Computer Science and high-quality teaching within a diverse and inclusive school

Qualifications

Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Computer Science
The ability to teach Computer Science to highly able pupils across KS3, GCSE and A Level
A talent for motivating and enthusing young learners to achieve their best
Kindness and open-mindedness; intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning
Commitment to diversity, inclusion and safeguarding in the school community

Responsibilities

Teach Computer Science to pupils across Years 7 to Upper VI.
Inspire pupils and colleagues through enthusiasm for computer science and high-quality teaching.
Lead/co-curricular activities and contribute to student experience beyond the classroom.
Support welfare and wellbeing of pupils and build positive relationships with students and staff.
