Job Description:

Please note: This is for a 3-month contract starting mid- to late July 2024. Due to the contract length, we cannot consider candidates outside the UK at this time. Please only apply if you live in the UK and can come to the studio 1-3 days a week. The Integrated Advertising Division in London is looking for a Lead/Senior Compositor to work across Advertising, Episodic & Immersive projects.

Compositors seamlessly integrate all layers or elements of a shot, including live-action and computer graphic elements. They work closely with Visual Effects Supervisors and CG Supervisors to composite the various elements that complete visual-effects shots.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with the Head of 2D and Visual Effects Supervisor to evaluate creative and technical approaches to shots
• Providing briefs and direction to the team to ensure proper execution of shots
• Training and mentoring junior artists
• Integrating 2D, 3D, and live-action elements to high-end visual effects standards
• Meeting schedules and deadlines
• Communicating with Production regarding schedules and progress
• Managing workload, time, and feedback actions for the team
• Balancing creative and technical aspects of shots
• Applying knowledge of colour space principles

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency with Nuke and production experience in Episodic or film VFX
• Experience with stereo compositing and multiple render passes
• Leadership or mentoring experience
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, collaborative work ethic
• Strong attention to detail in composition, colour, and lighting
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and solve problems
• Understanding of colour space principles and VFX pipeline

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of practical lighting for photography
• Client communication experience
• Programming and coding skills
• Experience on episodic/long-form projects
• On-set experience
