Lead Commissioning Engineer (Wormington)

Location: Evesham

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the on-site planning and execution of the project commissioning team.
  • Support the Project Commissioning Lead in all aspects of technical delivery and scope management.
  • Assist in developing project delivery strategies and planning for each Work Pack/System.
  • Assist completions engineers in setting system limit boundaries for work packs.
  • Provide technical support for SCADA, control & protection, ESD, F&G, Telemetry, and UPS systems.
  • Complete and manage project documentation to meet client procedures (T/PM/G/35).
  • Lead technical and quality requirements on the project.
  • Perform skilled commissioning testing on electrical, instrumentation, and control apparatus, developing procedures with other engineers.
  • Conduct commissioning activities on control circuits, level, flow, temperature, and pressure devices.
  • Perform commissioning on Fire & Gas systems and devices, validating cause & effects charts and interfaces.
  • Read, interpret, and work from vendor documentation, project drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Analyze work problems and implement corrections to facilitate system completion.
  • Allocate tasks to the commissioning team and monitor progress.
  • Establish positive relationships with the project team and client.
  • Follow all safety systems of work.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality processes and procedures.
  • Identify project opportunities and variations.
  • Support risk and issue management within the team.
  • Manage and coordinate specialist vendors for commissioning activities.
  • Lead by example in health and safety practices.
FUNCTION:

The Lead Commissioning Engineer is expected to undertake:

  • Site surveys as required.
  • Toolbox talks within the team.
  • Development of testing & commissioning methodologies.
  • Development of site work documentation, including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Supervision of integrated system testing, CFAT, SAT, and calibration testing.
  • Observation, variation, and rework management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Deep knowledge of EC&I and Automation, with a sound understanding of other disciplines (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Process).
  • Knowledge of Gas Transmission and Distribution Standards, especially for compressor stations.
  • Understanding of British and European Standards.
  • Previous experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control fields.
  • Experience supervising Electrical/Instrument technicians.
  • Experience with Hub2 completions management system.
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer in multi-discipline projects within the Gas Transmission and/or Distribution sector.
