Job summary

Apex M&E Solutions Ltd in London is recruiting a Commercial Pipefitter / Mechanical Installations Engineer for delivering pipework installations, maintenance, and commissioning across district heating and energy infrastructure projects. You will own projects from survey through handover, work across copper, steel, and plastic systems, and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

The role offers a £50k–£55k salary, a £6k KPI bonus, van and fuel card, pension, 25 days annual leave plus bank

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating or Mechanical Engineering desirable.
Experience with commercial pipefitting and mechanical installations.
Experience on heating systems: LTHW, CHW or district heating.
Experience with medium/large diameter pipework.
Heat meter installation experience advantageous (DN100 meters).
CSCS card required or obtainable.
Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

Carry out commercial pipework installations, modifications, repairs and upgrades.
Install and modify medium/large diameter pipework systems across heating and mechanical services.
Work with copper, carbon steel, stainless steel and plastic pipe systems.
Oversee jointing methods: press-fit, threaded, soldered/brazed and flanged joints.
Carry out valve replacements, bypasses, flushing points and pumps.
Support plant room modifications and heating network upgrades.
Scope, plan and deliver end-to-end mechanical installations and pipework amendments.
Assess site requirements and specify labour, materials and tools required.
Take ownership from survey through to handover and liaison with PMs.
Ensure works meet safety, RAMS, standards and best practices.
