Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting an experienced Commercial Manager to join the team delivering a major Data Centre project in Slough. You will take commercial responsibility across an allocated project section, working closely with project teams, the client and supply chain partners to support successful project delivery.

This role focuses on managing commercial performance, cost forecasting, change, and subcontract administration, while maintaining governance and contractual compliance across the

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management; RICS membership desirable.
• Significant commercial management experience on major, complex projects.
• Experience within data centres or other major construction projects is desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial activities across allocated project sections and work packages.
• Take responsibility for commercial performance, including cost, forecasting, risk and opportunity.
• Manage subcontract procurement, administration, change, accounts and claims.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, commercial forecasts, contract reviews and management information.
• Identify, price and manage change throughout the delivery of the project.
• Advise project teams on contractual obligations, commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support project budget establishment and ongoing cost control.
• Maintain robust commercial governance and contract compliance.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and support to junior members of the Commercial team.
