Lead Commercial Gas Engineer- Are you an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer with the ambition, leadership skills, and technical expertise to take ownership of a brand-new division and help shape its success?

If so, Spider is advertising on behalf of a long established and expanding cooling company in East Anglia, who are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Commercial Gas Engineer to lead and develop their new commercial gas division.

About the role:

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to play both a hands-on and strategic role as Lead Commercial Gas Engineer, combining your technical ability with leadership responsibility. You'll be instrumental in launching the division, establishing high service standards, and helping the business grow its reputation and client base across the region. As Lead Commercial Gas Engineer, you'll take ownership of this exciting new division from day one. You'll combine your technical expertise with leadership skills to deliver exceptional service while building a capable, high-performing team. Working closely with company directors, you'll help shape operational standards, ensure safety compliance, and drive growth.

Key duties and responsibilities include:
  • Installing, maintaining, and servicing commercial heating systems and catering gas equipment
  • Leading and mentoring junior engineers as the team develops
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of procedures, standards, and safety protocols
  • Supporting the development of new service offerings and growing the client portfolio
  • Maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction

As Lead Commercial Gas Engineer you are a confident and ambitious engineer ready to take the next step into leadership. With a strong technical background and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, you take pride in your workmanship and commitment to excellent customer service. As the successful Lead Commercial Gas Engineer you will hold commercial gas qualifications such as COCN1, CODNCO1, ICPN1, TPCP1A, CDGA1 (or equivalent), along with experience in commercial catering gas systems (COMCAT 1-5 preferred). You bring a proactive mindset, a focus on safety and standards, and a genuine desire to build something new.
