Redline UK in Bournemouth is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Team Leader to guide a skilled machining team in a precision engineering environment. The role combines hands-on machining with people leadership to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and continuous improvement.

You will supervise machinists, setters and operators, read engineering drawings, and programme equipment as needed, while maintaining 6S standards and safety compliance.

Qualifikationen

• Experience setting, operating and programming machining equipment within a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience leading or supporting a team.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, work holding and machine capability.
• Experience or knowledge of OEE, TPM, 6S and lean manufacturing.
• Experience working to production targets and quality standards.

Aufgaben

• Lead and support a team within the machine shop, ensuring colleagues are trained, supported and deployed effectively.
• Take responsibility for on-time delivery, productivity and quality within your area.
• Set, operate and programme machining equipment where required.
• Manage labour, machinery, tooling and production priorities effectively.
• Ensure work meets engineering drawings, specifications, procedures and quality standards.
• Support inspection and quality control processes, escalating non-conformances where required.
• Maintain high standards of 6S, housekeeping and tooling control.
• Identify and resolve machining and production problems.
• Support continuous improvement, waste reduction, cycle-time reduction and productivity initiatives.
• Work towards achieving and improving departmental KPIs and OEE performance.
• Support TPM and lean manufacturing activities.
• Promote safe working practices and compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
• Deputise for the Production Supervisor when required.
