Job summary

Humanoid is seeking a senior CMF lead to own the CMF direction across all robot programmes, from concept to production-ready specs. You will develop CMF strategy, maintain material libraries, and define specs for engineering handoff, ensuring alignment with the product's design language.

London-based and on-site five days a week. You will collaborate with Industrial, Fashion, and UX Designers, validate feasibility with suppliers, and drive governance for CMF processes within fast-moving robotics

Qualifications

• Treat material choice as a communication decision.
• 7+ years of CMF experience in complex manufactured products.
• Deep knowledge of materials, finishes, coatings, and manufacturability.
• Experience producing CMF specifications for engineering teams.
• Able to defend material direction with trade-offs and evidence.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity while defining the function and execution.
• Based in London and available on-site five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Own CMF direction across robot programmes from concept to production specs.
• Develop CMF strategy as part of the design direction and maintain libraries.
• Define CMF specifications for engineering handoff (colour, texture, durability).
• Collaborate with Industrial, Fashion, and UX Designers to align material decisions.
• Work with manufacturers and suppliers to validate feasibility within timelines and cost.
• Lead CMF reviews and present direction to senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to garment and soft goods material decisions where CMF intersects wearables.
• Build the CMF process with standards, workflows, and governance.
