In our cybersecurity team you’ll be helping to safeguard the financial system on which millions of people depend.

You’ll be making banking more secure by designing, implementing, and operating controls to manage cybersecurity risk. You’ll help define HSBC Group cyber security standards, deliver Global Security Operations and Threat management services, provide round-the-clock monitoring and security incident response services, and oversee Network/Application/Infrastructure Security. The work you do will provide assurance of the adequacy and effectiveness of security controls to Business Risk Owners.

The Lead Cybersecurity Analytics Cloud Infrastructure & Site Reliability Engineer will form part of the CSA Platform & Data Engineering Team, joining a global team of data technology professionals to deliver critical analytics engineering requirements for the strategic cybersecurity data lake and analytics platform.

In this role you will:

  1. Build and manage CSA Azure platform to enable application deployments.
  2. Engineer solutions on the Azure platform using Infrastructure-as-Code methods (e.g., Terraform).
  3. Manage Azure connectivity and networking e.g., Express Route, DNS, IP allocation and traffic routing, Network Security Gateways (NSG) and Azure Firewall.
  4. Provide maintenance and run support for landing zones/cloud workspaces operated on behalf of Cybersecurity teams.
  5. Ensure compliance with operational risk management standards (e.g., Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency).

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  1. Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and hands-on experience with Azure DevOps.
  2. Proficient in scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Azure CLI), coding (Python, C#, Java), and querying (SQL, Kusto Query Language). Familiar with version control systems like GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
  3. Experience with PowerShell, Terraform, Python, Windows command prompt, and object-oriented programming.
  4. Expertise in cloud technologies, with a focus on Azure (preferred).
  5. Deep knowledge of Azure Cloud services, including IAM, Active Directory, Data Factory, Databricks, Functions, Kubernetes, Azure Monitor, and more. Familiarity with PowerBI, Synapse Analytics, and S3 is a plus.
