The CSS Advanced Service Engineering (ASE) organization is a global, innovative, open-minded, and diverse team of highly skilled technical engineers. The ASE establishes long-term trusted relationships with Oracle’s key customers, helping them maximize their Oracle Cloud and on-premise investments, innovate faster, and accelerate business success with solutions across Oracle Cloud, multi-cloud, and on-premise environments.

Job Description:

We seek a Lead Cloud Architect (LCA) responsible for delivering top-tier services to our CSS Customers operating solutions on private and/or public cloud environments. Extensive experience in cloud architecture design and implementation across multiple domains (SaaS, PaaS/Middleware, IaaS/OCI, Database, Security, AI, Multi-cloud) is required, with the ability to lead projects through to completion via collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Build trust-based client relationships, working closely with customers as a trusted advisor.
  • Work with customers to capture business and industry requirements and translate them into technical architectures aligned with Oracle’s best practices and standards.
  • Lead CSS’s experienced delivery teams by providing technical governance and guidance.
  • Maintain market awareness of competitor technologies and emerging technologies.
  • Develop expertise in new technologies and educate CSS teams and customers on their adoption.
  • Utilize problem resolution skills to be accountable, trustworthy, and capable of building lasting relationships with team members, other Oracle teams, and customers up to executive levels.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to define scope, effort estimates, technical guidance, and project delivery strategies at the pre-sales stage.

As a CSS Lead Cloud Architect you will:

  • Assess and analyze customer business needs to ensure Oracle solutions meet their objectives.
  • Apply industry and Oracle best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen.
  • Serve as the Oracle Solution Delivery authority, guiding customers on scope, cost-effectiveness, quality, and reusability.
  • Provide technical guidance on Oracle cloud and on-premise solutions to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ensure smooth transition from implementation to operations, ensuring solutions meet customer requirements and operate efficiently.
  • Maintain Oracle solutions to meet customer demands, whether on-premise, cloud, or hybrid, supporting various workloads.
  • Support new business opportunities by collaborating with the CSS Services Solutioning team and promoting Oracle products and services.
  • Research and communicate developments in Oracle cloud technology to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and contribute to strategic CSS programs, including innovation initiatives.
  • Work closely with CSS teams to ensure the success of mission-critical environments.

Job Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of experience as a Senior/Enterprise Architect delivering enterprise solutions or transformation programs, preferably in cloud technologies.
  • Experience with Enterprise Design/Architecture Frameworks such as TOGAF or similar.
  • Provide technical leadership from sales to delivery, including coaching and mentoring.
  • Positive, creative, and innovative approach to solution design and delivery.
  • Agile mindset with experience adapting to change at program, project, and solution levels.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages such as Spanish, German, or French are a plus.
  • Proven leadership in delivering large, complex service solutions in enterprise or service provider contexts.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and provide suitable recommendations.
  • Eager to learn new cloud technologies.
  • Positive influence and motivational skills.

  • Experience gathering customer requirements and translating them into designs.
  • Ability to influence customer roadmaps and lead workshops.
  • Act as Technical Design Authority for architecture quality assurance.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Oracle’s private, hybrid, and public cloud solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and architecture.
  • Knowledge of physical and SDN network technologies.
  • Experience with Oracle SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and Database services.
  • Understanding of application landscapes and SaaS solutions.
  • Technical knowledge of relevant open-source cloud technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native design solutions.
  • Experience with automation, DevOps, GitOps, AI/ML, and microservices.
