If so, we invite you to join Swansea Bay University HB as a Lead Clinician at the Swansea Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) for 2 sessions. This fixed-term role is for 3 years, based at Langdon House, SA1. The service provides historic and acute sexual assault medicals for children, offering support based on presentation and needs. The Welsh Regional SARC sees children up to 14 years old who have experienced an acute sexual assault, seen jointly with a Forensic Medical Examiner and a Paediatrician. The Lead Clinician will develop care pathways, governance mechanisms, and support clinical pathways for adults at Swansea SARC. The role involves advocacy, training, and has no current on-call commitments; out-of-hours work is negotiable.
The post holder will advocate for children within the SARC setting, supporting care aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Collaborating with the Welsh Regional Lead, you'll ensure Swansea's service integrates seamlessly with Cardiff's, promoting a sustainable Paediatric SARC service across South & West Wales. You'll work within a friendly, supportive, multi-agency team, providing time and reassurance to children and families, aiming for the best outcomes.
