Job Title: Lead Clinician - Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Woodside Park – Penge, London SE20 8QU

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 8.30am-4.30pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only. There may be scope for this to be a 52-week contract; please get in touch if interested.

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Clinician - Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to lead our Clinical Team at Woodside Park School. The successful candidate will also provide some SaLT support at Baston House School in Bromley (20 mins away). The postholder will be part of the School Leadership Team (SLT) and collaborate with SLT and the Regional Clinical Lead to plan and prioritize work aligned with students’ EHCPs.

You will work with education colleagues to embed clinical thinking, support reflective practice, conduct clinical consultations, supervision, assessments, planning, monitoring, and delivery of bespoke SaLT programmes. You will oversee EHCP outcomes for students with clinical needs, including those with autism, neurodivergence, developmental trauma, and SEMH needs. The role includes managing a SaLT caseload and supporting the line management of a multidisciplinary clinical team across sites.

Our Clinical Teams support schools in maintaining nurturing environments where pupils can thrive, emphasizing safeguarding, respect, and involvement in decision-making. We seek a Lead Clinician who shares our vision to empower vulnerable individuals and build bright futures.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Valid HCPC, RCOT, or RCSLT registration
  • Experience working with autistic individuals and those with complex needs
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Experience supervising a therapy team
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in multidisciplinary team collaboration preferred
