A major NHS Trust in Manchester seeks a Lead Clinical Nurse Endoscopist to provide clinical leadership within the Managed Single Service. The role involves undertaking upper and lower GI endoscopy, ensuring compliance with JAG accreditation standards, and leading the development of clinical pathways. Candidates must have extensive endoscopy experience and be a registered nurse on the NMC register. The position offers a salary between £64,455 and £74,896 annually.
Lead Clinical Nurse Endoscopist position at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (based at Trafford General/Manchester Royal Hospital with cross-site working).
The post holder will provide clinical leadership for Nurse Endoscopists across the Managed Single Service (MSS) within MFT, responsible for clinical leadership, governance and pathway development of their portfolio for MSS. They will work with system partners to contribute to the redesign of the Endoscopy Service across MSS, maximise capacity and improve patient experience.
Up to 50% of the portfolio may be spent in direct autonomous clinical practice, with clinical responsibility for a defined cohort of patients. The allocation of clinical time for Trainee Nurse Endoscopists will be at the discretion of the successful candidate, in agreement with the Head of Nursing, to balance clinical support with strategic portfolio development.
The post holder will lead elements of JAG accreditation standards across MSS endoscopy units, ensuring compliance and continual service improvement.
