Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial arm of major civils and infrastructure projects. You will take ownership of commercial performance across a portfolio, guiding teams and shaping strategy to maximise profitability.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will oversee CVRs, cashflow, budgets and reporting, while managing NEC/JCT/ICC contracts and subcontracts.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related field.
• Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractors is essential.
• Proven civils & infrastructure project background.
• Experience leading commercial teams and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of multiple civils and infrastructure projects to ensure profitability and contractual compliance.
• Develop and implement strategies to maximise project profitability and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Own CVRs, cashflow forecasting, budgets and financial reporting across the portfolio.
• Manage NEC, JCT and ICC contracts with effective change control and compliance.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement and supply chain commercial management.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities on live projects.
• Lead valuations, final accounts and cash collection to maintain strong financial performance.
• Provide commercial input during pre-construction, tender reviews and bid submissions.
• Mentor and develop Managing Quantity Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Assistants.
