Job Description:

As Lead Civil & Structural Engineer, you will manage and deliver all civil and structural engineering activities across assigned projects, including tender, concept, FEED, detailed design, and construction support. You’ll lead technical delivery, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, quality, and commercial targets. You will act as a technical authority, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a client-facing expert, ensuring stakeholder confidence.

You will work closely with a multi-discipline design team and collaborate directly with clients’ fabrication and construction teams, providing real visibility of how designs transition from concept to reality. This connection allows for rapid problem-solving and tangible impact on site.

Responsibilities include:

• Deliver civil and structural design activities.
• Sign off engineering deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Lead structural analysis, foundation design, steelwork, RC detailing, and support structures.
• Oversee temporary works, seismic design, and geotechnical interpretations.
• Define work scopes, estimate manhours, and support proposals.
• Ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation.
• Maintain compliance with ISO standards and QA/QC processes.
• Promote safety and quality culture.
• Lead and mentor design teams.
• Review engineering outputs for integrity and constructability.
• Collaborate on tenders and proposals.
• Manage subcontractor activities and evaluations.
• Participate in contract negotiations.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve issues.
• Represent the company in technical discussions.

Education:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MEng/BEng or MSc/BSc).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership.
• 8–10 years UK experience, preferably in EPC or consultancy.
