Summary: The Lead Civil and Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of renewable energy projects. This role involves ensuring structural integrity, compliance with UK regulations, and collaboration with various departments to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of structural plans for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and other sustainable energy sources.
  • Conduct comprehensive site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project viability.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Ensure strict compliance with UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Perform advanced structural analysis and calculations to ensure the safety and stability of structures.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate structural designs with overall project plans.
  • Manage and oversee all construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and provide expert technical support during construction phases.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with structural designs and construction processes.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for planning and building permits.
  • Participate in and lead project meetings, providing updates on structural engineering aspects.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of design and construction processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a reputable university.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., Chartered Engineer status) is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in structural engineering within the renewables sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD Pro, SAP2000) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
