Assystem in the UK is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for an onsite role in Plymouth. The position offers 37–40 hours per week under a 46‑week initial contract and involves leading civil and structural engineering activities within a Joint Project Team.
You will define project requirements, manage detailed design, review drawings, support commissioning and decommissioning, and ensure health, safety, environment and quality standards are met.

Civil/Structural Engineer – Onsite Role
Plymouth | 37–40 hours per week | 46-week initial contract
Join our client to delivering a major 3 Basin remediation project in Plymouth This is a key onsite role where you’ll lead and coordinate civil & structural engineering activities within a dynamic Joint Project Team (JPT).
You’ll collaborate closely with:
A proactive Civil/Structural Engineer with strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and experience managing onsite engineering delivery within complex infrastructure environments.
Experience of developing design assurance for complex projects
Experience in civil engineering for complex projects
Experience in stakeholder engagement throughout the engineering lifecycle
Experience in a defence sector.
Experience in civil sector.
Experience of design delivery within defence projects.
Experience in engineering lifecycle management.
UK National with SC Clearance. Demonstrable suitable qualifications and experience relating to marine and mechanical engineering. Accredited Degree in an appropriate ‘STEM’ discipline (or equivalent qualification and experience)
