Overview

Lead Nurse (CYP Services) – Leicester Hospital. Lead the paediatric nursing team to provide the CYP service and ensure high levels of patient care at all times. Work closely with the Nuffield Health Group Lead Nurse and Hospital Senior Management Team and build strong relationships with Consultant partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of specialist nurses to deliver a bespoke service for paediatric patients.
• Be accountable for the operational and clinical management of the CYP service.
• Deliver high-quality, clinically effective care as an essential part of the ward team.
• Play a vital role in the child’s journey through the hospital and be a trusted guide for children and their parents or guardians.
• Work with a wide variety of cases and within different specialist areas to broaden skills.
• Promote innovation within the service to respond to service user needs.
• Engage and build relationships with external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• NMC qualified with extensive post-registration experience in a children’s ward setting.
• Post-registration experience with various levels; ILS or ALS skills or willingness to undertake further study is ideal.
• Experience in children’s nursing; experience in adult nursing is an advantage.
• Experience of clinical leadership is an advantage.
• Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
