Job summary

Executive Network Legal Ltd in Shropshire is seeking a Head of Childcare to lead and grow the national childcare practice. You will recruit and mentor lawyers, manage a high-quality caseload, and develop strong relationships with clients and professionals.

This leadership role offers strategic influence within a national firm, with hybrid/flexible working arrangements and the autonomy to shape the department's future in the region.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Childcare law.
• Strong understanding of public and/or private children matters.
• Experience handling complex care proceedings.
• Excellent technical and advocacy skills.
• Proven leadership or management experience or the ambition to lead.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing the Childcare practice.
• Building and growing a high-performing team.
• Recruiting and mentoring junior and senior lawyers.
• Managing a varied and high-quality caseload of childcare matters.
• Advising parents, children, local authorities and other professionals.
• Handling complex care proceedings and related family matters.
• Developing relationships with clients and professionals.
• Identifying growth opportunities and contributing to strategy.
• Collaborating with the wider Family team across the firm.
